46 Broadway Partners, LLC acquired the two-building Richlin Apartments at 46th and Broadway on Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza in late 2006. CEEP VI, LLC was retained as the developer to convert the apartments to condominiums. The property is comprised of studio, one and two bedroom apartments and was renovated in an Art Deco style. Tubular steel balconies were added to the second and third floors dramatically changing the aesthetic appeal of the property. The concrete floors in the garden level apartments were refinished as were hardwood floors in the upper level units. New HVAC systems, kitchen appliances and bathroom fixtures were installed.
The late, great Duke Ellington was the influence for re-naming the property the Ellington on Broadway. Duke Ellington’s music in the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s evolved from jazz to blues to swing and Kansas City was a part of its heritage. The condominiums range in price from $99,000 to $171,900 and are being offered with 100% financing to qualified buyers. Missouri Neighborhood Preservation tax credits were issued for 37 of the 41-units. |
