The Oak Country Estates subdivision is comprised of more than 100 large lots (one acre or more) in De Soto, Kansas. The subdivision wraps around an 18-hole public golf course and is located one block north of the intersection of K-10 and Kill Creek Road. Oak Country was launched in 1982 and there currently are no lots available for sale. CEEP is developing Oak Country Estates VIII, the eighth phase of this subdivision. The new 37-acre subdivision adjoins the original Oak Country Estates and has been subdivided into 24 lots averaging 1.3 acres each for homes ranging from $400,000 to $600,000.
The site is a combination of pasture and timber. A gentle draw runs north-to-south through the property and ends in a small farm pond. CEEP V, LLC is building a street and storm sewer that loops through the subdivision and is installing electricity, gas, water, telephone and cable television. Each lot will install its own septic system.
De Soto has experienced an abundance of growth and ranked sixth in the State of Kansas for percentage increase in population over the last decade. With a population of 4,735, De Soto offers metropolitan advantages along with small town flavor. Citizens moving to the area enjoy a quiet community while having the advantage of easily commuting to jobs throughout the Kansas City area to the east and Lawrence to the west. |
