With three-and-a-half decades of commercial real estate experience, Carol Smith knows the business like few others. Prior to joining Cohen-Esrey in 1987, Smith served as the area director for the California-based American Diversified Companies, operating over 2,000 units. Smith is the regional asset manager for several multi-family communities in Cohen-Esrey Communities’ residential management portfolio.

Dedicated to her own education as well as that of her employees, Smith teaches several courses to Cohen-Esrey Communities field staff. She has served as vice president and Accredited Resident Manager coordinator for the Kansas City chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) board of directors from 1989 -1993, and as president of the Kansas City IREM chapter in 1994. She is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) through IREM and holds real estate licenses in Missouri and Kansas.
